Secretary Duncan offers teachers leeway on job performance ties to standardized testing [NSBA Legal Clips, 8/25/14]: According to The Washington Post, U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan recently announced a plan to allow states to delay using student standardized test results on teacher performance evaluations, a move widely seen as an effort to calm tension between Duncan and the nation’s educators.
